OUR VISION AND MISSION

Vision

Our Vision comes from the Great Commandment that Jesus gave us as recorded in Mark 12:30-31 and Luke 10:27.  Jesus said that, “You shall love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

We take this command to heart – We love God, and We Love People.  You are Loved Here!  The most common comment that we receive is:  that we are a loving church. 

God’s Love changes everything.  We receive that great, unconditional love from God, and, in turn, show that love to others which helps us be successful in accomplishing our Mission.

Mission

Our Mission comes from the Great Commission that Jesus gave us as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20 where Jesus told the disciples and now us, “…All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with your always, even to the end of the age.”  Amen.

We also take Jesus’ command to heart – so that’s why Together, we’re changing our families, communities and the world is our Mission.  We disciple, teach, preach, and live out the Word of God.  We encourage our families to live for the Lord in and away from the church building as we should, for we are the living, breathing church wherever we go.  Individually, we are dwelling places of the Holy Spirit who will guide us and empower us to complete Christ’s mission which is also our mission. 

We also care about our community and state.  Our church supports local and national ministries such as Next Step Resources, in Dunlap, TN; Recovery Soldiers Ministry in Grundy County; Gideon’s International Ministries through our local chapter in Dunlap, TN; and also we support our children’s home in Sevierville, TN – Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. 

Additionally, we care about our world.  Our church supports missions around the world in countries such as: Honduras, Uruguay, Southeast Asia (7 nations), India, DR Cong,, Liberia, China, and Israel. We are involved with orphanages, secondary education, water filtration, wells, and other ministries in these countries.   

As a part of the Church of God, our denomination as a whole has ministries, education, and/or missions activities in 189+ nations around the world.  Together, we want to say Yes to our Lord Jesus Christ’s command by reaching out to the Last, the Least, and the Lost of humanity.
